Vera May Croft (nee Williams)
September 6, 1923 - June 14, 2024
Known affectionately as May, a native-born Victorian, died peacefully at home with love in her heart and a song on her lips. Predeceased by Herb in 2011, eldest daughter Diane in 2022 and her many siblings. She leaves sons Charles (Simone) and Thomas (Carol) and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relations and friends who will miss her infectious spirit and ready smile. May was always willing to teach, tell a good story, recite her favourite poems and offer advice or pitch in to help. Her enthusiasm and commitment served St. Luke's Church, Ballroom, Round and Square Dance Clubs and Bowling Clubs. An Executive Secretary/Office Manager, she worked at School District 61, City of Victoria, Spratt and Associates, and UVic in Campus Planning. She had a passion for theatre, performing with St. Luke's Players and Monterey Players, gardening, boating, fishing and traveling with Herb, her lifetime companion of 71 years. No flowers please but consider a donation to The Salvation Army
donate.salvationarmy.ca or the Charity of your choice. A Celebration for May will be held later.
