Mel MEREDITH Obituary
MEREDITH, Mel Mel left us peacefully on Dec. 9, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife, Maureen, of 54 years; sons, Steve, Lorne, Rob and grandchildren, Vika and Hudson. He is also survived by sisters, Delores, Edna, Marilyn and brothers, Don, David, and Wayne. Predeceased by sister, Edna and brothers, Harold, Gerald, George, and Ken. Over the years he had more than his share of health challenges, but he always fought back and never lost his joy of life and sense of humour. He was a machinist by trade, but enjoyed working with wood. He built 2 homes and several RV's, so that we could enjoy camping and fishing trips, 2 trips to Disneyland and a trip across Canada with the family. 17 winters were spent in Yuma, Az., our second home. We tried to pick a different route each year to explore the state parks and ocean vistas. He dearly loved his family and was happiest when we could all get together for the holidays. Our sincere thanks to the staff in the respiratory unit at RJH. A private memorial will be held for the family, with Rev. Russell Crossley and a celebration of his life will be held Sunday, Jan. 19 from 1 to 4 pm at Steve's house, 3282 Hazelwood Road.
