Merville Hall Obituary

HALL, Merville Alison (nee Manning) 1952 - 2016 Merville suddenly soared into the waiting arms of the Lord, January 8, 2016 with her red hat and prayer shawl in hand. A Red Seal Chef by trade she treated many with her cooking skills. Always tending to the needs of the elderly and young children that were drawn to her. She loved driving her Mini, wearing red hats and travelling the world. She is survived by her husband Doug, sons Chris (Anita), Tobi (Joanne), brother Ben Manning, mother Pim Manning, and granddaughters Kendra and Taylor. Merville will be greatly missed by everyone that ever spent time with her. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday January 16, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Highway Christian Fellowship Church, 10364 McDonald Park Road, Sidney, BC. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider a donation in her name to a charity or cause of your choice as she helped so many. Dear Doug,Christopher,Tobi, and family, being my friend from school and a Sea Ranger pal, I will miss Merville terribly. We hadn't touched base with each other for the last four or so years, but she was always in my thoughts and prayers. I just couldn't believe it when I heard of Merville's passing. Merville really cared about everyone. I had much respect and admiration for Merville. Dave and I send our condolences to all of you. Love from Lynn and Dave.

I love the picture you chose to use beside the guest book at the service this afternoon. I met Merville as part of the Elder College Advisory Committee. She was always a bright light with great ideas and I sensed she was a believer. I am so grateful she was. She impacted a LOT of people in a very Jesus-like way.

Merville-- Such a sparkle, and radiant faith, and servant heart (especially for the Cursillo community!). And who will ever forget the soups?! To Doug and family: (words from the praise song)-- "Go in peace; and laugh on Glory's side". Praise God for her life and witness..... David Fuller

I am so sorry to know Merville has passed away. My thoughts and prayers are with her and with her grieving family at this very sad time.
I had the opportunity of meeting Mervile twice at Red Hat Lady events and she was such a shining star and made me feel so very welcome into the group.
I extend my most respectful regards and deepest sympathies to her loving family and to her many good friends that are missing her so very much at this time. I pray time will heal the grief and sorrow and bring back all the treasured memories everyone has of Merville.

My cousin Merville's sudden passing is a shock to all of us who loved her. She was such a wonderful, energetic and jovial woman. We were cousins from afar but were email pen pals during the time between my visits to Vancouver. I so enjoyed her chatty missives and received her last one only two days before she became ill. I will miss her for the rest of my life. My heart goes out to Doug and the entire family.
