Michael Gelling

GELLING, Michael
November 21, 1967 - June 18, 2025
The family is heartbroken to announce the loss of Michael Gelling. He died with his Mom holding him in his final moments on the morning of Wednesday, June 18th, 2025. He joins his father who predeceased him last year. Michael was one of six brothers including: Richard and Lyn and their two boys in Singapore; Charles and Ashley and their two boys; Corry and Lea and their two boys; Russell and Lisa and their five children; Randy and Geraldine.
Michael loved and cherished his five children: Jessica and her husband Mike Marchand and their children Lochlan, Lili and Lennon; his daughter Katie by Yvonne Gelling; his son Galen by Marsha Lambert; and Allison and William Gelling by Adele McConnell.
Michael was known for his warm heart, always-present smile and love of life. He worked in the hospitality industry for decades, where he was well known and respected, before spending his later years working on his farm property in Cobble Hill. He had many life-long friends, including Alfons Oberela.
The family thanks the staff at the Cowichan District Hospital for the special care he received.
A Celebration of Life in the future will be held at a later date, to be announced.
