Michael W. Jones

January 21, 1953 - March 15, 2023

We are devastated to announce the sudden death of our brother Mike.

Mike had a huge heart and would help anyone, anytime. He was an avid soccer fan, having played from a very young age up until his twenties. He grew up in Saanich and some of his fondest memories were of playing soccer at Reynolds Park. Mike treasured family and friends, had a wicked sense of humour, told really bad jokes, enjoyed good food, and was a great cook.

Growing up, Mike always had part time jobs, i.e.: paper routes, picking strawberries, gardening, etc. In his late teens he worked for Safeway and then moved on to construction. He built and renovated many homes in Greater Victoria over forty years. He always had a strong work ethic and worked hard his whole life.

Mike was predeceased by his parents Dorothy and Bud Jones. He is survived by his siblings and their spouses: brother Ken (Diane), sisters Bev (Dave), Jen (Rod), and Liz (Ron), as well as nieces Karina and Niki, great-niece Sophie, nephews Steve and Nathan, and many good friends.

Our brother will be missed, but is finally at peace. God speed.

We wish to extend thanks to the doctors and nurses in ICU at Victoria General Hospital for their very kind care during his final days.
