Michael Raymond Labrecque

November 20, 1954 - September 26, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mike Labrecque, who died from cancer, in the presence of family, on September 26th, 2024 in Vancouver, B.C. He faced his final days with immense strength and dignity.

He was born in Ottawa, November 20, 1954, the son of the late Gus and Joan (nee) Presley. Mike was a committed father who is survived by his children Shawn (Samantha), Jennifer; their mother Joan (Hawkins); and his grandsons Cohen, Marcus, and Canton. Michael was a loved brother to Sandy (Gordie), Dale, and Mark (who predeceased him), the much loved nephew to many aunts and uncles, and will also be remembered as a loving uncle or cousin by many.

He forged great friendships across the country, was a respected leader in business and the community organizations he served. He will be remembered for his sense of humour, generosity and integrity.

His immediate family are grateful for the kindness and care provided by the medical staff supporting him during his final months at Royal Jubilee Hospital (in Victoria) and in his palliative care at St. Paul's Hospital (in Vancouver).

Family and friends may pay respects at West Shore Parks and Recreation Fieldhouse (1767 Island Highway, Victoria) on November 9th, 2-4pm.
