It is with heavy hearts that we acknowledge the passing of Michael Alfred Pearmain, born on June 18, 1959 in Vancouver. Mike passed away on November 9, 2023 after a short illness, with family by his side.
Although Mike's absence will be felt by many, his steady and consistent presence will be most deeply missed by his wife and partner of 43 years Julia, his daughters Janet (Jon), Lindsay (Frank), and Megan (Moishe), his adoring grandchildren Skye, Charlie, Willow, and Lincoln, his parents Gord and Jean, his brother Jim, and his sister-in-law Elizabeth and their families.
Mike touched the lives of countless people as the owner and operator of Summerhill Kitchens for more than 25 years. Mike cherished the true friendships and close connections he made both through his business and in his personal life. He lived in service to those around him, always willing to help in any way he could to make life easier for those that mattered to him. Those of us who were lucky enough to know him will keenly feel the absence of him in our lives forever.
In the last months of his life, Mike filled his days doing the things that he loved with the people who meant the most to him. He spent many days on the ocean on his beloved boat "Twice is Nice" with Julia by his side. He took road trips with lifelong friends that were present for every milestone in his life and went on a fishing trip with his buddy Gord. Amidst all of that, Mike spent every moment he could cherishing time and conversation with an endless stream of family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at the Capital City Yacht Club, 10630 Blue Heron Rd, North Saanich, BC, on Sunday December 10, 2023 from 1pm-3pm.
