TANSLEY, Michael Stuart
November 12, 1933 - September 23, 2025
With profound sadness yet with acceptance and gratitude we announce that our dear husband, father, friend and mentor, Michael Stuart Tansley, in the loving arms of family, has passed through the grey rain curtain and walks now in a far green country under a swift sunrise.
Born to Charles Edward Tansley and Winifred Maude Beatty in the district of Guildford, UK, Michael faced many challenges as a young man; growing up during the war, TB and unrelenting arthritis, but Mike never complained, and always had a smile for everyone.
Millwright by trade but artist in nature, his handiwork to this day occupies places of pride in many homes, workshops and studios. His great love of nature (and his own place in it) led to the sharing many adventures and experiences with all that came to know him.
Predeceased by first wife Elizabeth (Bannister), son Paul and siblings; George (Jean) and Molly (Jack) UK. Survived by wife Valerie, son Shane, grandchildren; Victoria of Duncan, Jane, James, John and Alanna of Winnipeg and siblings; Lindy (Dave), Richard (Sylvia) of the UK, and Susan (Jerry) of Tulsa OK, as well as many nieces, nephews and a throng of grandchildren spanning four generations.
In lieu of flowers a donation to a local charity of one's choice would be well thought of. As per his wishes there will be no service but a celebration of life to be announced at a later date.
Home is the sailor, home from the sea
And the hunter home from the hill!
