Hi Maureen:
We are all shocked to hear of your father’s passing yesterday. We were aware he was struggling after his operation but were hopeful he had overcome the worst.
He was a very special person and we will all miss his gentle humour and enthusiastic interest and love for his family, both his and ours!
We know this is a difficult time for you, Christine and the family, but if there’s anything we can do to help out – just let us know.
We are thinking of you and send our deepest sympathies and condolences to your family, including of course, Christine, Christopher and Claire.
Love,
Bob & Pat

To Maureen & Christine,
Sorry to hear that Michael passed. We are glad you won't have to watch him suffer though. Memories are the legacy of love. We hope you find comfort in all the good times you had together.
We spent some really enjoyable times with Michael and Barabara. They made us some meals at their house. They came to our house for some meals. We went out to some nice restaurants together. The times together always seemed to involve food. We didn't see them a lot, but when we did your Dad was so warm, compassionate, friendly, funny and intelligent. We thought he was just a wonderful man. We always had good times with them.
Thank you for letting us know.
Take Care! Love, Joanne, Bill, Jacquie and Tyler

Dear Maureen, Christine, Claire & Chris & families,
We are very sad for you all, Mike was a genuinely rare soul who we loved and adored, and a binding tie in this family, right to his last days. He leaves behind many good memories and we will have to keep in mind carefully how we can keep his legacy ongoing as we move forward through our years.
While our hearts are heavy, we are relieved to know that he went peacefully & our thoughts are with you all through this very difficult time.
Love Jenny, James, Will & Caroline

It was a pleasure to meet and work with Michael during his time on the Property Assessment Review Panels.
I know he was a devoted family man and treasured his time with his wife Barbara prior to her passing.
Our thoughts are with you all during this difficult time.
Sincerely,

It was a pleasure to know Michael and he was very helpful to me during the loss of my husband, father & mother. We shared our thoughts on losing a spouse and I always felt very comfortable with him. As I told Corey & Chris, Michael was a gentle man and a gentleman. I understand your grief.

Mike Young was as decent a man, as genuine a leader, and as kind a colleague as one could ever hope to meet.
He was available, faithful and honourable in every dealing I had with him, and they were many in those years. I suspect all of my colleagues could have said the same. And soon will.
Every condolence to his family. He was an ornament to Victoria.
