I was fortunate to have married into the Lam/Yuen family, and knew Mike when he was just in high school. I always remember how loving and close the family was, and enjoyed the wonderful family dinners. I miss the wounderful lunches with Mike, Russ and cousin Cliff, which often erupted into laugh fests. Thank you for your friendship. You will be missed! Our heartfelt thoughts are with Karen, Russ and Mom Victoria.

I have been thinking about Mike a lot over the past month. He was such a great guy. What I remember most is laughing with him. His wicked sense of humour added so much to each time we met. Reminiscing about our days at CIBC or our mutual love of the Habs, he always remained a positive force. Mike will not be forgotten.

I am so saddened to hear of Mike's passing. Gone too soon. He was one of those people that once they crossed your path you never forget. I very much enjoyed knowing Mike and thought of him often as he left such a great impact on the person he was and how he influenced joy and kindness in his actions. I will miss Mike and send my condolences to Karen and family. He was one of the best people I met in my career with CIBC. I first met Mike when we worked in HR back in 1979 and then came across him when I worked with him again at Park Royal in 1995 and then with HLC. Forever in my thoughts.

I met Mike when we were 18, and we quickly became very good friends. I benefited from 51 years of that friendship.
Mike pulled me into the bank in 1976, and it would become a lifelong career for both of us.
Mike was the best HR person I ever met. He loved and cared about people. He always had time for family, friends and employees, and guided with salient advice. I benefited innumerable times from his coaching.
Mike had the most enjoyable sense of humour. Since his passing I have been revisiting the memories. Every time, we laughed until we could barely breathe. I will miss Mike´s quarterly calls, laughing about the past and catching up.
Mike was without a doubt one of the most influential people in my life. If a person´s life can be measured by how much they help others, then Mike lived a perfect life and countless people benefited from knowing him. I´m forever grateful for his friendship and guidance.
My sincere condolences to Karen and all of Mike´s family, your loss is so profound.

We are very sorry to hear of Mike´s passing. He was one of my first managers at CIBC in Vancouver and I will never forget his kindness, mentorship and amazing sense of humour. We were fortunate to be able to keep in touch in later years through our friends the Kendalls. He will be missed and our thoughts are with Mike´s family.
