Monique, I can't believe you're gone. I went to highschool and although i wasn't a close friend we maintained a friendship. I'll never ever forget you, we got our tatoos together we had fun together I can't believe your beautiful smile is gone away. I know where ever you are you must be truely happy now.

I am so shocked to hear about Monique. I worked with Monique at West and loved having her around when we were working as she had such a wonderful sense of humour and a great sense of team work. She truly was an inspiration and her sense of wonderful style always made me think about her even long after she left west.
There's and elephant in the room.
It is large and squatting, so it is hard to get around it.
Yet we squeeze by with "How are you?" and "I'm fine…
And a thousand other forms of trivial chatter.
We talk about the weather.
We talk about work.
We talk about everything else…
Except the elephant in the room.
We all know it is there.
We are thinking about the elephant as we talk together.
It is constantly on our minds.
For, you see, it is a very big elephant.
It has hurt us all.
But we do not talk about the elephant in the room.
Oh, please, say her name.
Oh, please, say "Monique" again.
Oh, please, let's talk about the elephant in the room.
For if we talk about her death,
Perhaps we can talk about her life.
Can I say "Monique" to you and not have you look away:
For if I cannot,
then you are leaving me alone…
in a room…
with an elephant.

Monique was a very kind hearted person with an adventurous taste for life. I remember when we were younger, the summers she would leave for camp Thunder Bird and her trip to Costa Rica, she was always enjoying life. Monique will be greatly missed, she will be in my heart forever.
Love,
Jana

Querida Monique,
We shall miss your smile,
the spark in your eyes,
the stories that you shared with us,
your laughter,
your kind words that gave comfort during tough times.

It is not right that you left us so soon.
So much to see yet.
So many more stories to tell!!
But you shall always be right here,
in our hearts.
--------
Algo se muere en el alma
cuando un amigo se va.

Cuando un amigo se va
y va dejando una huella
que no se puede borrar.

Ese vacio que deja
el amigo que se va
es como un pozo sin fondo
que no se vuelve a llenar.

Hasta siempre Monique.

It was so sad to find out that Monique had passed away suddenly. I wanted to let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Monique was in my Spanish class at Vic High. She was always friendly and positive and had a beautiful smile. It was a pleasure to teach her and I always enjoyed talking to her.
Although no words of sympathy can take your grief and pain away, still I hope you can find some comfort in knowing that there are many people who care.
