GRANFIELD, Morris (Morry)
April 15, 1949 - January 29, 2026
We are sad to share the news that our dear brother Morry passed away on January 29, 2026. He was born in Edmonton, studied at NAIT to become an Electronics Technologist after which he worked for Bell Northern Research there and for Nortel and other similar companies in Ottawa. He moved to Victoria around 2006 and worked here until he retired. Morry was a kind and gentle guy, a passionate intellectual and bookworm. He loved photography, computers, museums, Russell books, Victoria walkways…
Morry is lovingly remembered by his daughter Shalana (Kyle), siblings Linda Barry, Brian Granfield (Diane) and Terry Will (Mike) and many nephews, nieces and their offspring. Morry was predeceased by his parents, Roy and Marjorie.
The family is deeply grateful for the caregiving and companionship that his nephew Ryan Barry and most caring friend Kim Dallinger provided during the last number of years. With their help we were able to keep him home as long as possible and later they ensured he was stimulated and engaged while in care. The staff and administration at Beckley Farm Lodge took great care of him and made him feel safe and loved. We can't thank them enough.
We will be celebrating his life on March 14, 2026, at Elk Lake Baptist Church, 5349 Pat Bay Hwy from 1:30pm.
