Muriel Neale Obituary

NEALE, Muriel Dorothy July 5, 1933 - January 12, 2018 Muriel, known affectionately as Moo, passed away peacefully surrounded and cared for by her family. Moo loved spending time with her family and friends. We will fondly remember her wonderful sense of humour, her delightful wit and laughter, the conversations we had and the stories she told. Moo had a dignified strength and resilience that was inspiring. Moo was the loving wife of Jim, her late husband. She will be deeply missed and always remembered by her son Andrew, his wife Janet, their daughters Kelsey, Katie and Bree; son Craig and his partner Pam, his children Brittany and Jimmy and his grandchildren Brooklyn and Jaxson; daughter Lesley and her husband Huston Hill. Moo is survived by her dear sister Jo and her brother Bill and predeceased by her brother Bob. We are very grateful for the compassionate care from Dr. Takada and the exceptional nursing staff at Victoria General Hospital. The family invites friends to join them in remembering Moo at Royal Colwood Golf Club on Sunday, January 21 from 1-3 pm. For those who wish to do so, a donation to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.

I was fortunate to spend a day in Victoria watercolor painting with Moo last year. She was a beautiful artist! After Christmas she came to tea at my home in Sooke and will always be remembered for the warm friendship we shared having just met a few times. My sympathy to her family and friends for the loss of this very special person.

To Lesley, Andrew, Craig and family, I was so sorry to hear about your Mom. I have such fond memories of when we all lived in Terrace and my visits to Victoria. I always felt so welcome by both Moo and Jim. I treasure those times.

I am so very sorry to hear of Moo's passing. I met Moo at Royal Colwood and I knew instantly that I liked her. Over the years we played some golf, shared some stories and had lots of laughs. Even though we didn't see each other very often, when we did, we always gave each other a warm hug and caught up a bit. I for one, was blessed to have called her a friend. I'm going to miss those warm hugs and smile. Unfortunately I will be out of town for the remembrance on Sunday. My condolences to all of Moo's family. Margo Jesney
