Murray Mackay Obituary

In Loving Memory of Murray Mackay
It is with profound sadness that we share the sudden passing of Murray Samuel Mackay (56) on February 3, 2022. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, and dear friend to many. Murray was born in Vancouver, British Columbia on December 13, 1965, he married his soulmate Annaick on December 29, 1995, in Sidney, British Columbia and they spent 30 wonderful years together, raising their family and spending time with those they love.
Murray left this earth on February 3, 2022. He was predeceased by his mother Helen Mackay. He is survived by his wife Annaick, daughters Eliyanna and Sheena, father, Stewart, sisters Nancy (Dominic), Robin & Debbie, brothers Jason (Marcie) & Jamie, brother-in-law Jean, nephews Trystin, Riley, Pierre, Elliot, Oliver and Quinn, nieces Sophie and Sloane, grandson Santino, and birth parents Diane and Brian (Pat).
Murray loved diving and spent many years overseas, including southeast Asia, Sri Lanka, Japan, and Russia working in the commercial diving industry. Following his adventures, Murray found and operated Advanced Subsea Services Ltd., a commercial dive company providing services to civil and offshore marine industries in Sidney, BC. He loved his work and enjoyed the many business relationships and friendships he built along the way. He had a zest for life, the ocean and all Vancouver Island has to offer. He loved fishing, crabbing, camping, riding Harleys, exploring the gulf islands, and enjoying time with family, friends, and fur babies on Sidney Spit. Murray and Annaick also loved to travel together, whether enjoying France, or other locations in Europe, they had many adventures. Murray loved his family and friends dearly and has left us all with many happy memories and a reminder to live life to the fullest. He saw the good in people, tried to see the positive in all situations, and he passed that along to everyone whose lives he touched.
Murray will be forever in our hearts and always in our thoughts. His absence is heart-breaking, and yet his presence will be forever felt.

I've tried to write something many times. It's very hard to express how I feel. But I can express just how lucky I feel to have known you and been part of your life. It felt like I'd known you my whole life. You're definitely look up to for many reasons. Firm but loving, funny but serious ( not too serious ).
An incredible energy and passion for family, adventure and fun!
I will cherish all the memories.
Love Jamie

I never met Murray in person but worked with him for many years via phone and email on some of his equipment purchases. He was a very nice man and I enjoyed talking and working with him. My condolences to his family.

Well brother I am not sure what to say or how to carry on without you. 52 years is a long time to have someone by your side. We may not have always seen eye to eye but I knew no matter what you always had my back. You lived life to its fullest and didn´t let anyone or anything hold you back. Your nephews are going to miss their "crazy" uncle but we will do our best to keep your memories alive both for us and Eli! Love you now and forever.

So very sad to hear of Murray´s early passing, he was a great and caring man. I´ll always remember the fond memories of the day he took Annaick, Eliyanna, the pup, myself and my husband Ken Albers and our friends out on his boat in Sidney harbor for the day we loved it And will always cherish this enjoyable day with him and family
