Najib Asfar Obituary
ASFAR, Najib Emile Was born in Heliopolis Cairo, Egypt on May 1, 1931. He was fondly known as Papa DO by his 4 Grandchildren: Zozianna, Angelina, Zoltan, Kairos. Najib was the Executive Manager for Eastern Africa for Wyeth International until he moved his family to Victoria, Canada approx. three decades ago. He spent most of his life in Real Estate development/Apartment Building investments, with his final project (2010) being THE OVATION Condominium Complex on Esquimalt Road. He is survived by his Family and Friends that love him and will greatly miss him. Najib was a Papa to three children, John, Irene, Sacha; Husband to Lore; Grandfather, Brother, Father in-law, Uncle, Friend, Visionary, Businessman. Papa loved family, people, good coffee, dark chocolate and enjoyed life. He passed away peacefully at his daughters family home on July 11, 2011. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of us. God bless him, in Jesus name. Amen. Dear Sasha, and fanily..I am so saddened to hear that Najib has just passed on. Larry and I his dear friends from Portland.Joyce, Larry and renee asnd Brett Thayer..I hope you kids remember us as we tried to visit Canada as often as we could...we owned the Ann Palerms Bakery in Portlan d for 13 years...selling it in Jan of 1988..Larry and I came to see Najib about 4 years ago and we were planning on coming up to visit this month. I wanted to say goodbye to him before he passed on....His health was not the best when we took him out to dinner that time. My deepest heartfelt sympathies goes out to the Asfar family. I know how hard you fought his fight with him. My hope is that you find comfort and peace at this time and know how much your father was loved and loved you all.

We were very saddened to hear the news of Najib's death. We have so many memories of good times together over our 31 years of friendship, and we were looking forward to seeing him again when we visit Canada next summer.
We are sure it comforts you to know how much he loved his family and how you were always his main priority and biggest source of pride and joy, through all the years we knew him, right from when you were kids and never changing even as you grew up and gave him an even bigger family to love and cherish.
