Nancy GREGSON Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the sudden passing of a kind and gracious lady. A native of Vancouver, Nancy was raised there with her brother Phil.

Predeceased by her parents, Kenneth Bain and L.C. May (Paynter) Bain. Left to mourn is her original family of four children living in the USA: Karen Walker and her son, Bryan, Robert Geissler, Ken Geissler and Greg Geissler. Through her beloved husband and soul mate of 25 years, the late Ken Gregson Sr, Nancy has four stepchildren living in BC: Doug Gregson, Grant Gregson, Ken Gregson and Wendy Reid. Through their families she has many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

As a graduate of VGH in 1961, Nancy began a diverse career which spanned 5 decades. She was a nurse by profession but also by essence of personality - a care giver, organizer and networker.

She took extensive nursing courses, working in Critical Care, Hospital Administration and Extended Care as well as operating her own home care business. In retirement she was active with the CRNBC registration committee.

Nancy led a full life, travelling extensively and pursuing her hobbies of reading, crafts, art, photography and gardening.

Special thanks and appreciation are offered to her dear friends and nursing colleagues through the years. A sincere and heartfelt thank you is extended to Dr. Lynn Fedoruk and the CVU team for their attentive, respectful and compassionate care for Nancy while a patient at RJH.

Due to current conditions any memorial service will be determined at a future date. Flowers are gratefully declined at Nancy's request; however, donations to a charity of your choice in her name would be appreciated.

I met Nancy in 1958 when we both entered nurse's training at VGH. Nancy was a beautiful, kind, classy woman then and remained so throughout her life.
The class of Sept. 1961 will miss Nancy as she was the one who kept us all connected with her various mailings, emails etc. Rest in peace dear Nancy. You will be missed by all those that knew you. We love you.

My favourite memory of Nancy is from a trip we took with her and Grandpa down to Seattle around 1994. We visited Granny Jessie’s old house and Nancy organized a water balloon fight for all the grandkids in the yard. It was a fun and memorable time for all of us. She will be missed.

Gregson family and friends,

Susan and I send our sincere condolences to the family on the loss of Nancy. We were neighbors during Nancy and Ken's time in the Sayward Hill complex. Engaging and caring come to mind in describing them, always asking about our wellbeing -health- family matters in a sincere manner. One incident about Nancy and her love for Ken stands out in our minds, at Nancy's insistence she persuaded Ken to attend an RCAF squadron reunion in England. Ken was reluctant to attend the gathering, but when the reunion happened Ken had the time of his life, he talked about it for months.
Nancy was a gracious lady who devoted her whole life to serving others, she will be missed.

I remember a very knowledgeable, kind and caring Nurse in Nancy, when she worked for the Sisters of St. Ann. Deepest sympathy to all her family near and far.
