I have fond memories of Miss Bing. She helped lead our Mount Doug girls volleyball team to win the BC Championship in 1982. The description below of her having a tough exterior but a heart of gold is so true!

Rest In Peace my dear friend. We met in the late 1960s playing ball, and were close friends since then.

Ms. Bing was my P.E. teacher in the 70's. Thank you. You always knew where you stood with her. Yes I threw a fast softball, and this is just p.e. class. Rest in peace dear lady. God bless you!

Ms. Bing was a teacher at Mt. Doug when I attended in the 90s. Ms. Bing had a tough exterior but a heart of gold. She was my gymnastics coach in my grade 12 year. When I got to the Islands we realized we had misinterpreted the "all around"rules as 3/4 apparutus instead of all 4. I didn't have a beam routine and although I could have just faked it and still won ( your marks were from top 3 apparatus), I didnt want to steal that from someone who had prepared so I declined. Because of that she had a special athletics award made for me that year to reflect that decision. Thought that was pretty cool. RIP Ms. Bing. you are appreciated.

Nel was a fun, enthusiastic friend. She taught me how to play the uke, and was very encouraging! For many years she was my email pen pal. I will miss her very much
