Nenagh Molson Obituary

Nenagh Molson passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025, at the age of 89, surrounded by the love she gave so freely throughout her extraordinary life. Kind, gentle, wise, and unmistakably herself, Nenagh was a gifted artist and a deeply cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose unwavering love, support, and guidance touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. Young at heart with a bold independence and unique flair for style, she lived as an original in every sense - one of a kind, forever loved and deeply missed.
Born and raised in Victoria, British Columbia, Nenagh was the daughter of Dr. Glenn Simpson, the first pediatrician on Vancouver Island, and Esme Simpson. His lifelong dedication to service left a lasting imprint on her own quiet strength and grace.
While studying art and design at the Vancouver School of Art (now Emily Carr University of Art + Design), Nenagh met her beloved husband, Robert "Bob" Molson. They shared more than 65 years of marriage filled with adventure and companionship until Bob's passing in 2023. Together they travelled the world before settling back in Victoria, building a rich life rooted in family, friendship, and culture. They especially treasured their many visits to Poipu, Kauai, where the beauty of the island mirrored Nenagh's own appreciation for nature and colour.
At home, Nenagh found joy in her garden, literature, cooking, the loyal companionship of her much-loved dogs, and gatherings with family and friends over cups of tea or a glass of red wine.
A passionate Chinese brush painter and teacher, she founded The Studio of Harmonious Endeavours more than fifteen years ago. For many years the studio has been closely associated with Goward House in Cadboro Bay, where she devoted herself to nurturing the artistic community through weekly sessions and annual exhibitions. Her work - often botanicals, birds, and natural forms, later expanding into textile and mixed-media collages - reflected the vibrant influence of Chinese art that infused her home, wardrobe, and even her choice of tea and cuisine.
Her paintings and collages continue to bring beauty and inspiration to all who see them.
Nenagh is lovingly remembered by her four children, Glenn, Hilaire, Oonagh, and Robyn; by her nine grandchildren - six granddaughters and three grandsons; and by her two great-granddaughters. She is reunited in memory with her brother, who passed in 2019, and her eldest grandson, who passed in 2020.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate teams at Royal Jubilee Hospital, to McCall's for their gentle guidance, and especially to Rose, whose caring presence became part of our family.
Friends and family are warmly invited to a Celebration of Life honouring Nenagh on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Goward House, Victoria, British Columbia.

Nenagh was a wonderful friend. Victoria will seem empty now, with both her and Bob gone. Knowing them was such a good part of my life.
One of the photos was taken at Brick Oven Pizza in Kalaheo, Kaua'i in January 1986. The other is of a few of Nenagh's personal artwork Christmas greeting cards.

My father shared a long and rich friendship with both Bob and Nenagh. After moving to Victoria I also came to know and love them. I feel like I´ve lost another family member. Condolences to all the Molson clan from the Leuchters. She was a very special woman!

Dear Nenagh was my life long friend. We grew up together, went to High School, to Art School together and both lived in Montreal for several years eventually returning to Victoria always visiting and enjoying our children when they were growing up. Nenagh has always been a big part of my life.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Nenagh was an inspiration to me when I was a teen. I spent many afternoons sitting lawn chairs in her back yard. I also loved the camping trips. She was so creative and vibrant.
