July 28, 1928 - August 13, 2025
Nick passed away peacefully on August 13, 2025, at the Priory in Langford, BC.

Nick is lovingly remembered by his brother Bill (Liz); son Neal (Bev); daughters Laurie (Gary) and Nikki; 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren. He will also be deeply missed by his loving partner Billie Cooper, along with her children Allen (Carole), Darla (Mike), Greg (Sherri), and Cheri (Gerry). He is predeceased by first wife June, brothers John and Andy, sister Nettie, son Steve, daughter-in-law Sylvia, and stepdaughter Wendy.

After many years driving long-haul in Ontario, Nick began bartending in 1974 when he arrived in Victoria. A fixture at Langford's Westwind Hotel, Nick did it all - tended bar in the pub, became shop steward when bar staff unionized, renovated the pub interior, and bounced a few regulars out the door before retiring in 1993! Generous, kind, and quick-witted, he was always ready with a helping hand, and a cold brew.

Our heartfelt thanks to Priory long term care staff. Nick was happy and often said "they sure take good care of me here." We appreciate that more than words can say.
