Norma Goodwin Obituary

GOODWIN, Norma Anne
Norma Anne Goodwin, a life very well lived, and a woman immensely loved.
Mom passed on Saturday, February 21st, 2026. Exactly three weeks, and one day following her 96th birthday.
Mom was predeceased by her loving husband Brian, in 1988.
Mom is survived by her loving daughter Christine, her son David; grandsons Cameron, and Jason Goodwin, and their mother Kimberley Goodwin.
Born the only, and much-loved child of Anne and Hugh Duffield, at Victoria's St. Joseph's Hospital; seventeen minutes after midnight, on Thursday, January 30th, 1930.
Growing up in the Gorge area, Mom attended Craigflower and Tillicum Elementary Schools, and Mt. View High School.
After Dad passed, Mom travelled; took up golf and continued her passion for playing 8-ball (she was a shark). She especially treasured the years she spent playing pool with the ladies of the "Dockers Angels".
Mom was actively involved with the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion starting in the 1950's and was extremely proud of her service.
A stay-at-home mom, Mom worked hard and always put everyone's needs before her own.
She was utterly selfless.
Throughout a gruelling battle with vascular dementia, Mom never lost her sense of humour; a quality that was an essential component of who she was, and there is comfort in that fact.
I would like to thank Sharon, her housekeeper, but more importantly her friend, during Mom's fourteen years spent at The Renaissance.
I would especially like to thank Jamie, her extraordinary care aide, throughout Mom's final years at The Summit.
I can't express how fortunate we were to have Jamie with us from day one, up to, and including Mom's final day on this earth.
Truly a blessing.

Be at peace Mom, you have more than earned your wings, fly free, and soar high.

Norma was a wonderful person and fun to hang out with back in the DRA days. Was a `pool buddy´ back then and I remember many fun times with her. My condolences.
