Paul Connolly Obituary

CONNOLLY, Paul Stephen It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Paul Stephen Connolly on November 1, 2017. Paul was born February 14, 1951 in Halifax, NS and grew up in Victoria, BC. Paul is remembered for his love of life, sense of humor, and unwavering loyalty to friends and family. Many of Paul's life long friendships were formed in his early years as a member of the 5th Field Battery, Royal Canadian Artillery. As a longtime BC government employee, Paul worked for many years at both Glendale Lodge, and BC Corrections facility, Wilkinson Road Jail. He also spent the past several years working with TSM Fort McMurray, AB. Paul was an active member in Victoria's sporting community, fondly nicknamed "Razzle Dazzle" by his teammates with the Velox Men's Rugby Football club. Paul's passion for sport was demonstrated at the Victoria Curling club, as well as playing softball for the Victoria Athletics. He was a dedicated coach in the community for both junior boys and women's softball. Paul was also an avid fisherman, and enjoyed a good part of the last 15 years at the fishing trailer in Becher Bay Marina. Paul will be missed dearly by his loving partner Carla Kuin (Roy and Corinna (Dylan)); twin brother Allen (Shirley), brothers Richard (Kim) and Roger (Michelle), younger siblings June (Ned), Hughena (Allan), Marie (Jim), Marilyn (Robert), Alex (Bill), Gallivan, Mary (Terrance), and Michael (Cheryl); 10 nieces, 7 nephews; as well as close friends the LaCharite family and the Witzke clan. A celebration of Paul's life will be held November 21, 2017 at 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm (Eulogy 2:30 pm) located at the Royal Canadian Legion, 411 Gorge Rd. E. Victoria BC. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Our Place Society.
