Paul Kilshaw Obituary

KILSHAW, Paul A.
August 4, 1962 - April 19, 2023

Our family is sad to share the news that Paul Alexander Kilshaw died suddenly while at work.
Paul worked as a Commissionaire at the Institute of Ocean Sciences, but on weekends and in the evenings he could be found performing magic and twisting balloons at festivals. These events will be a little less lively now that he has moved on to entertain those waiting outside the Pearly Gates.
Paul is survived by his son Christopher, Mother Peggy Little (Blair) sister Catherine Dempsey, (Jim), brothers David and Peter (Kathy), his nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Willows Park, from 11:00 - 1:00 on Saturday, May 13, 2023. Please bring your own chair.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, or to a charity of your choice.

I met you in the military. You were always working to lift spirits with a joke or a smile. I´m so glad I kept encouraging you to pursue your magic. You brought a touch of magic to everyone you met. I only hope you realize how special you are, and that it didn´t take watching from above to learn it.
Thank you for the years together. Thank you for the smiles. Thank you for walking together for a while, and parting ways as friends.
You were such a special person.
I still keep waiting for someone to call me and tell me you did some healing out of body and popped back in to continue your journey with us.
Have lots of laughs wherever you are.
Always in my heart.

Paul put smiles on faces of the young and old. What a gift. He has brought so much joy to so many, something we must all aspire to. Paul´s mother , Auntie Peggy to me, is the most warm hearted, beautiful soul. A dear family friend who always thinks of others. Peggy brought another beautiful soul into this world and we all carry his spark, his smile, his love in our hearts. Sending my love to the family.

Paul was always there to exude fun! I am so grateful our paths crossed through children´s events! Paul, you were always there to help when I needed, you offered so much more than just a fellow entertainer! You were a friend & I will always remember your jokes, story telling, balloon twisting expertise & of course your magic! When you´re making friends on the other side, find Cassius, he´ll welcome you with open paws! Until we meet again my friend! You will be forever missed!

So sad to hear of Paul's passing. I knew Paul from Willows Elementary school. He was so nice. I remember him and I setting up a lemonade stand outside his house and at the end of the day he said I could keep all the money. I couldn't believe it!! What a sweet boy he was. He always made me feel good even though I was very shy. My thoughts are with his family.

We were so sorry to hear of Paul's passing! A member of Mackenzie House, he attended GNS (Glenlyon Prepatory) from 1972 to 1975 in Grade 5 through Grade 7. It was at GNS´s Wonder Gala this past Fall that Paul explained that he had fond memories of his time at the school, spoke highly of his experience and how thrilled he was to participate at the event! We were looking forward to experiencing his "Magic" at our future events. We send our best to his family.

I used to work with Paul at the Red Barn Market on Glanford. When I bought my daughter in with me to trade off with my mom, my daughter would be so excited to see the "magic man" he would always perform one of his tricks for all the kids and adults to brighten their day. When I would ask him how his day was going, he would reply " best day ever" that was Paul, every day was the best day for him. R.I.P Paul, you will be missed.

Paul was truly a ray of light everywhere he went. It was always a good day when we would run into Paul at a festival or an event! He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

Heartfelt condolences to Paul's family. I first met Paul in high school where I enjoyed a lot of time in his company, and was always glad to see him throughout the years. He was a good man and a good friend who's cheerful outlook and sense of humour I'll sincerely miss.

I met you in 1977, the beginning of high school. We became best friends almost immediately. Paul, you helped bring me out of my shell, you were good at that. You were a member of my family, you were my brother. I will never forget you. I miss you.

So sad, Paul gone so young really. I was thinking of him yesterday because one of the new guys I'm working with who is from the UK and I thought how much he reminded me of Paul with really almost the same mannerisms. Odd really some sort of.....who knows. Paul was a really gentle soul who really loved magic. We hung out together in the late 80s with Dean with all of our new business ideas. If there is magic in the after life then Paul will be performing. Bye my friend
