Mon ami Paul,
Teaching you French pronunciation at La Maison Française of UVIC was the beginning of a friendship that lasted almost 10 years. Seeing you in Victoria and then in New Brunswick and sharing news by email was so meaningful and I already miss those precious and long/ paragraph free emails!! It will be hard to explain my 6 year old daughter that Santa from BC will not send packages this year. What we loved the most was knowing how genuine, sincere and happy Paul was and I want to end with my deepest sympathies to Paul's friends and family. Au revoir mon ami.

I remember Paul as a very cheerful, kind and generous student in our summer French program "La Maison Française" at University of Victoria, in which he participated with enthusiasm for four summers between 2004 and 2008. His enthusiasm was contagious, and he will be remembered and missed by many people who were fortunate enough to take this program alongside with him and benefit from his presence, his joie de vivre, his generosity. Au revoir, Paul!

Our sincerest condolences to Paul's friends and family. Paul was a dedicated supporter of Intrepid Theatre and we always looked forward to seeing him at our events and raising a glass. This is such sad news and we will miss him dearly.
From everyone here at Intrepid Theatre, here's to Paul.

Our heart goes out to everyone that knew Paul. We are still in shock after hearing such sad news. Paul was just hear two weeks before he passed away and as usual made us all laugh. Paul would only come to see us when the kids were home from school so they could greet him with a big "Hello Paul". He would always bring them a present and this time he brought the kids each a DVD and treats to pack on the plane for our trip to Disneyland. Paul was so kind, so thoughtful and a joy to be around. My son who is 9 says "Paul would talk about taxes for 2 mins and then chat about sports and things for hours with us". My daughter who is 7 says she will always remember that we made Paul cookies when he would visit and he would eat two and stick two more in his pocket for the walk home. You were a good friend to our family Paul. We will remember you always. Love Amber, Russ, Kiana and Zach

I worked together with Paul at Royal Trust in the 1980's, he was the kindest man that I have ever known.. After leaving there whether meeting on the street or at the ballgame we would chat like we saw each other every day. I will miss his ever present smile, his wit and most of all his conversations.

There aren't any words to show how terribly sad Paul's sudden passing has given Paula and me. The memories are so fresh; 25 years of Christmas' with us, Chinese dinners with Paul with him constantly asking for jugs of water while he was reaching over taking food off your plate. Yes, very fond memories and we will never lose them. Mabel and I love you Clem.

Paul, we miss you already :( I was literally calling about you coming for dinner to chat about doing Taxes, then I got the news. That was a few weeks ago and it still hasn't sunk in for our family. Our heads are spinning with every thought of all the years you and Tony played ball together; All the laughs then and recently; Yearly Christmas visits, playing "the Gate" with Sonya when she was a toddler and always having a little gift for her and a treat for the dog; Running into you at Sweetwaters; Royal Athletic Park; The many things you so generously donated to and supported.
Such a generous soul you were and you've touched so many people. Even if someone spotted your infamous car, there'd be a comment like "Hey there's Paul's car! What a great guy!" We know you'll be watching over everyone and cheering on your teams. We miss you my friend and there will be many a tear shed amongst the laughs when people gather to celebrate the wonderful human being you were. Sending hugs to your family and friends. Rest In Peace Paul xo.

My deepest sympathies to the families and friends of Paul MacLeod. I was (and still am) shocked to hear of Paul's passing. He had a gentle sole; someone who truly cared about the welfare of others - giving generously of his time and support while asking nothing in return. I had the pleasure of working with Paul at the Canadian College of Performing Arts where he spent many hours volunteering. I will miss our chats. RIP dear friend.

Our sincerest condolences to Paul's family. Vance and I will truly miss seeing Paul. He was such a warm, thoughtful, kind person and I too loved his stories and loved his sense of humour and character. I was so happy to have met Paul through our dear friends Paula and Gerry. Paul - you were one of a kind - and your generosity was known by many. You will not be forgotten.

Paul was one of a kind. So thoughtful and caring to friends, always generous with his time and wit and enthusiasm for life. He didn't seem to need a reason to help people, and his kindness defined him. He brought happiness to many, many people and I was proud to call Paul my friend. Deepest sympathy to his family and other friends from coast to coast.

Paul was a longtime Canadian College of Performing Arts volunteer and donor. Paul had a huge passion for the college and our students. He visited us almost weekly and brought food and supplies regularly. Each year, Paul drove the students to their Remembrance Day performances He also provided an annual peer award scholarship. Paul attended every show and was an ideal volunteer.
This has hit us at CCPA hard as Paul was a very positive influence and loved to immerse himself into as many of the college's activities as possible. He desperately wanted to see the college succeed and grow.

Paul was a constant presence at our college dropping by weekly to volunteer or visit staff and students. He loved our students and took pride in all of their accomplishments. Paul always brought treats for the students and offered kind words of praise and support to our young artists. He was a strong supporter of our charity, a member of our Inner Circle (the highest level an individual donor could achieve) and he never missed the monthly events that took him behind the scenes of a theatrical production at our college.
In addition, he sponsored several annual Peer scholarships where he wanted our students to vote and select the one individual who they felt stood out as a role model (I've shared the description that Paul crafted below as it truly reflects Paul's quiet way of supporting without concern for himself or for glory or recognition). We plan to offer his scholarships in his memory this year, as I know he wanted this to happen.
Paul was a very caring and kind individual who was loved and appreciated by our students, staff, faculty and board. He will truly be missed. We are still in shock about the news of Paul's passing. Rest in Peace, dear friend!
"It's Not About Me" Peer Award
This is a Peer Award. Each student was asked to nominate a classmate from Year I & II based on the following criteria:
"Awarded to the student who best demonstrates constantly from his or her actions that it is much better and more important to give than to receive." This student constantly goes the extra mile in striving to make the overall program as successful as possible in every way by giving as much as possible of themselves in terms of assisting and mentoring others, being a consummate team player, performing the necessary behind-the-scenes activities and duties as required without the expectations of any personal glory, recognition or reward etc. In short, this student constantly puts the betterment of the entire group ahead of any personal individual achievements.
These are the words of our colleague and dear friend, Paul MacLoed.

We are so very sad to hear of Paul's passing and send our deepest condolences to his brothers and family. Paul had the biggest heart and was such a generous man, definitely a one in a million. I have fond memories of him back in the old Royal Trust days in the late 80's and early 90's when every Christmas Paul would make a point of buying gifts for all the children of his co-workers. He was always so kind to everyone he knew and even those he didn't. May he rest in peace and continue with his generous spirit. We will remember him always,

Our condolences to all the family. I'm so sorry to hear of our dear friend passing. Paul has been a family friend for to many years to count! My husband played ball with Paul and was his mechanic since he's owned that 77 firebird and there was no way he was ever going to sell it. Paul has done our family taxes and offered the best advise (when he wasn't screening his calls) Paul always loved to catch up with my boys when he visited about there hockey and golf. Paul always had a dog biscuit for our Bella. May great memories help all in there healing process. Paul will be forever missed by my family. RIP our friend ❤

We are so sad to hear this. Paul was always such a generous, kind and thoughtful person. Every time he came to our house he had such a gentle and kind way with our two daughters - and loved to chit chat with them (of course he'd always bring a little gift or something he thought would be interesting for the girls - whether it was a little water squirter, an LED fan he'd saved from Moxie's or most recently a little stuffed white dog who he said was named snowy for our oldest daughter). We're grateful to have known him, and for his generosity and kind spirit. We will miss him, and send our condolences to his family.

To Paul's family and friends. We are very sorrowful and shocked at Paul's passing. He has done my income tax for many years (always late). He was always a joy to be around. We feel a great loss and an emptiness that is accompanied by wonderful memories of Paul. He had a cheerful heart and was good medicine for our souls. We will truly miss you Paul.
