One of the best. So sad to hear and my thoughts are with all the family. I had the pleaseure of playing with and against Paul during his hockey days. A true gentleman and sportsman, someone who you'd love on your side. Even though I haven't had the chance to see Paul for many years I feel a huge loss of a valued friend. Farewell mate!

Heather and I wanted to say that we enjoyed Paul's friendship over the years. We saw Paul at many sporting events and in Parksville. I worked with Paul for years at BC Forest Products. I also watched Paul play soccer as a child on my brother's Evening Optimist Olympics. Paul was an amazing athlete. He never received the recognition he deserved as an athlete. In my opinion, he was one of the best for his age in Victoria.
Heather and I found Paul to be a sensitive person, and he was a strong fighter right up until the end. We will never forget Paul. Our regards to his family.

My sincere condolences go out to Paul's family and friends. Paul was such a fun, upbeat person and it is truly tragic that he was taken at such a young age. We had some great times at the Thomson's cabin and their annual Boxing Day party. RIP Paul...

To Paul's Family, Paul and I were friends in High School. I also got him to come out and play one year of football. I recall that though he never played the game till 18, he scored a 60 yd TD on one of the first plays of the game. Also remember a very funny trout fishing trip to Shawnigan around 1980 where Paul, Barry, and I slept in Paul's van. The last time I saw Paul was three years ago at VHS reunion and he spoke very proudly of his kids. Goodbye Paul,l R.I.P and thanks for all the laughs - Martin Glendinning

Since your death, memories of you have been flooding my mind and heart on a daily basis, Pynner. There are literally countless times, eras and events to call upon, cherish, and remember you by after 46 years of shared friendship. I'll especially miss our occasional deep chats, your overt communication style, your affectionate hugs, the tone of your voice, and the hilarity of your laughter. Lifelong friends are a rare treasure, and I shall remember you as such. Love and miss you, old friend. xo

--- Sincere condolences to the entire Pynn family during this deeply sorrowful time. May your fondest memories carry and nourish you through your grieving. ---

To Mrs. Pynn, Blayne, Mason and other family members. I met Paul at Lansdowne Junior High when I was 13 years old. He has been a lifelong friend of mine. Dear Blayne, Mason, Carla and Paul's entire family. I just wanted to share my thoughs and prayers for you all upon hearing about Paul today. I have known him for many years and will always remember his kind smile and that twinkle in his eye. Whether it was at the Pearkes rink where I used to see him in the lobby waiting with all the other parents, or skiing on top of Mt. Washington, he was always a pleasure to run into. My hearts is with you at this time.
Sincerely,
