There are teachers that make a huge impact in your life. Paula Tuttle was one of the best. She made learning fun, especially English history! If she was angry with you, you'd never forget it but you learned whatever lesson needed to be learned. She was my Grade 5, 6 and 7 teacher at Willows and made quite the impression on all of us. She was very groovy and knew how to wear a miniskirt and show off a magnificent pair of legs. Thank you Mrs. Tuttle for your inspiration. I know this is 7 years late, but just found this obituary and wanted to let her family know that one person can change another's life.

We all have at least one teacher that made a significant impact on the course of our lives. Paula Tuttle was mine... she saw that my ten year old self sorely needed to be encouraged and complimented, and she made sure to do so, even as I left her grade five class at Willows and went on to grade six and seven and so on... I will never forget her kindness. When people ask me which teacher helped me the most, I shout, "Mrs. Tuttle"!!!!!!!!! Linda Cannon

Mrs. Tuttle was an inspirational art teacher, for which I will never forget her and the experimental media she plunged us into at Willows School in Oak Bay. We were also lucky to have her as our Grade Five teacher 1965-1966. Who could forget the sewers of Paris after being read Les Miserables out loud several times a week if we finished early, or the amazing spelling bees on Friday afternoons?

Gary, so sorry to hear the news. Hope you & the kids are coping with your loss. Paula was a master teacher and I valued my time with her at Willows Elementary. I even had the distinct privelege of taking over for her in the "Open Area" when she left on maternity leave! Take care. Holding you in our hearts,
