Penny Cadger Obituary

It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Penny Chloe Cadger (nee Hardy) on Wednesday, January 4th. Penny leaves behind her husband Alf, her children, Brook and Morgan, her grandchildren, John-Morgan and Ashleigh, and her sisters, June, Phillis, and Lorraine. Penny is also mourned by her former partner Clancy. Penny was predeceased by her first husband Bryan, her loving mother Henrietta, and Ett's husband Ron.

Penny was known for her kindness, thoughtfulness, and class. She had a passion for travel and had many adventures throughout her lifetime, including crossing the Pacific by sailboat and pioneering the vanlife movement as she traveled across the American continent. She loved her garden and community and especially enjoyed her walks through the neighborhood with her very best 4-legged friend, Chloe. Penny loved to cook and bake and was never without cookies in the cookie jar.

In addition to her personal pursuits, Penny devoted much of her time to charitable work, always giving generously of her time and energy. Despite her struggles with dementia in recent years, she faced her condition with grace and never let it dim her loving spirit.

The family would like to extend its deepest gratitude to the staff at Kiwanis Pavillion for the dignified and compassionate care they provided and to Dianne for the friendship and love she shared with Penny during her time there. Penny will be forever in our hearts.

Every time I think of my Aunt Penny I just can´t help but smile. Her energy was special and her presence had the ability to bring some extra joy to a room. We did not live close, and while distance kept our families from spending time together I hold a special place in my heart for Aunt Penny. As a kid, I always looked forward to seeing her and knew that she was going to wrestle me down and torture me with tickles and kisses. I acted like I hated it, but of course that was not the case.

My sincere condolences go out to our whole family and everyone who loves her. She will be missed but forever remembered with a big smile.

The world has lost a beautiful soul! This photo shows the smile in Penny's eyes that was ever-present in the years of fun we shared. Ken will welcome Penny as she continues her journey.
Alf, Morgan and Brooke, please know that Peter and I have you very much in our thoughts as we will always hold Penny close to our hearts.
Be strong and be there for each other.
Love to all
