Peter Mark Banfield

May 06, 1947 - April 25, 2023

Peter Banfield passed away in his sleep on April 25th, at Victoria Hospice. Peter was born in Victoria BC, to Eileen Rutherford (Crewe) and Clyde Banfield. His happiest years in youth were spent as a sea cadet, where he earned the national title of Top Cadet, and spent much of his young adulthood sailing to faraway lands. After crewing, Peter had many roles in life, from affordable housing provider to small business owner to bus driver, and spent most of his years in Vancouver, Prince George, Nelson, and Edmonton before returning to his hometown. Peter had a strong social conscience, a sharp intellect, and a joie de vivre. He loved music, travel, history, fine food and drink, and being a dad to his two kids, Aaron and Elena. Peter is predeceased by his parents, his brother Michael, and his son. He is survived by his sister Laurie and his daughter.
