DAWSON, Peter J.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our father, brother, uncle and friend Peter John Dawson. Born in Halifax in July 1960, Peter left this world on his own terms, at his chosen time, peacefully with his beloved daughter Sophie by his side.
Peter was predeceased by his parents Derry and Thelma Dawson, his brother Eric and his furry friends Buddy and Shadow. He is survived by his daughter Sophie (Sullivan), his sisters Julie and Catherine, sister-in-law Shelly, nieces Jenna (Nic) and Tina, and nephew Micheal, his cherished friend Suzanne and his loving dog Frankie.
Peter spent more than a decade in the Coast Guard followed by self-employment -- he could build and repair almost anything! On weekends Peter could be found scouring thrift stores and garage sales; his finds were unique and he had an amazing eye for treasures. Peter was renowned for his pie making and his generosity. We were blessed to have him in our lives.
The family thanks Dr. Brown and her team on 8 N Royal Jubilee and Drs. Dave Hadley and Mike Fulmore. We especially acknowledge the kindness of the care team at BC Cancer centre and Dr. Ksienski. We are grateful to Dr. Jean Maskey who helped make his passing peaceful and pain free.
