Peter Dodwell Obituary
DODWELL, Peter Carpenter D. Phil., F.R.S.C. Died peacefully in Hospice in Victoria, BC, on Tuesday, September 19th, 2006 after a struggle with cancer. He leaves his much beloved wife Elizabeth and children (Nick, Karen, Toby, Andrea & Emily); also step-daughters, Linda and Katrina; grandchildren and step-grandchildren; and a great grandchild-a joyful legacy. Born in India, raised and educated in England, Peter graduated from Oxford University with degrees in Philosophy and Psychology. He came to Canada in 1958 and spent his career in the Department of Psychology at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. He was a scholar, writer, musician, artist, avid gardener and sportsman, who lived an active and varied life. Peter retired to Victoria with Elizabeth in 1993. A memorial service celebrating Peter's life will be held on Saturday, September 30th, 2006 at 12:00 noon at The Chapel on the Corner, Robert J. Reid & Sons, 309 Johnson Street, Kingston. A memorial service in Victoria will be held on Thursday, October 5th, 2006 at 3:00pm at St. John the Divine Anglican Church, 1611 Quadra Street. Christian Community Services in Forest Row, West Sussex, England to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Victoria Hospice and Palliative Care Foundation, or the Vancouver Island Cancer Centre Foundation. 297715
