Peter Penner

PENNER, Peter Walter Passed away peacefully on May 11, 2006 at Victoria General Hospital in Victoria, BC, aged 91 years. Peter was born on October 5, 1914 in Hepburn, Saskatchewan. He is survived by his; daughter, Janet Peter (Jim); son, Rodger Penner (Dianne); grandchildren, Diane Russell (John), Brian Peter (Valerie), Stephanie and Alison Penner; great-granddaughter, Lexi Russell; brothers, Alvin (Alma) and Menno (Adeline), as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Peter came to Victoria in 1941 and worked in the shipyards for many years. He married Eleanor Rodger in 1942 and they were very happily married for nearly 53 years. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and travelling, especially cruises. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Special thanks to Dr. Pai and the staff at the Geriatric Unit of Victoria General Hospital for their care and attention. A Funeral Service will be held at MCCALL BROS. FLORAL CHAPEL, Johnson and Vancouver Streets, on Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at 1:00 pm. A reception will follow in the Graham and Torrey McCall Family Center. The interment, attended by family members will take place at Royal Oak Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Peter's memory to a charity of one's choice.
