SHIPPEN, Peter
With deep sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Peter Shippen on May 7th 2023.
Peter was born in Newcastle, England on February 3rd, 1928. He was evacuated to Canada in 1940 during the war.
Peter worked at the Empress Hotel from 1945 to 1966, where he served Queen Elizabeth. It is here where he met and married the love of his life, Christine. He was with Shaw Cable for 20 years. Peter was truly a Renaissance man, a wonderful storyteller and had a great sense of humour. He will be deeply missed.
Predeceased by daughter Carol, by brother Ken and sister Enid. Survived by his wife Christine, daughters, Connie Christiansen, Cathy Johns, son-in-law Robert Johns, and grandchildren Craig, Tanya, Nolan, Shawn, Jeff, Callan and 4 great-grandchildren.
