As a student at Royal Oak Jr.-Sr. High School, then as a cruising sailor and ham radio operator (1984-2000) Peter was an important part of my life. Every one of his students was important to him. Every one of the cruising sailors who could count on him for help, good conversation, news and family updates, remembers him as a man of hugely diverse interests. Our lives were made richer from knowing him. I regret that the next time I visit again in Canada I will not be able to pick up the phone and have yet another interesting conversation. Family and friends are rich in memories. Jean Ness (nee Davis)

Peter was the light in our journey as we crossed the Pacific in 94 and although retired from Bluewater he once again was our light when we returned in 2011. There will never be another Peter.

To the family of Captain (Navy) Peter Thomas (retired) please accept my condolences on his passing. I knew Peter from his time at the lodge as a day participant and resident. He was a true gentleman with a passion for life. I really enjoyed our times together talking navy' and his time as educator.
He will be missed, but it is clear that he has left a lasting legacy within the many aspects of his life.
Respectfully
Petty Officer 1st Class Michael Mitchell, HMCS MALAHAT
Volunteer at The Lodge at Broadmead.
