Peter Yetman Obituary

YETMAN, Peter Robert 1 May, 1940 4 July, 2006 Peacefully at home with the love of his family to support him, Peter surrendered his spirit and passed away on 4 July, a few short weeks after being diagnosed with cancer. After 44 years as Husband, Father, and Poppy he leaves to grieve his loss his wife, Kay, and their children and grandchildren Heather (Wayne) Campbell; Paul (Cory), Sarah and Meaghan; and Denise (Dan) Sernoski, Kristen, Devon and Darian. He is also survived by his siblings Joan, Jim, Ken, and twin brother Paul. Peter enjoyed a 27-year career with the Armed Forces, which allowed him to serve in places both in and out of the country and where he made many life-long friends. He and Kay moved to Vancouver Island in 1990 and from 1991 to 2003 he worked as the manager of the Shawnigan Lake Easter Seal Camp. His love of carpentry was a rewarding hobby. His patience, eye for detail and perfection resulted in many works of art, now treasured gifts of family and friends. A memorial service for Peter will be held at First Memorial, 375 Brae Road, Duncan on Friday, 7 July at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to the BC Cancer Society would be appreciated. Deep and heartfelt thanks to all the professional caregivers who assisted us and Peter in these final weeks, but special mention to Dr. Wilson for his care above and beyond the call of duty. 266529

I was sad to hear of Pete's passing. Pete and I served together at CFB Moose Jaw back in the late '70s. My heart felt condolences to Kay and family.

I was truly sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. Yetman. I knew the family many years ago in Lazo (Comox), B.C. We lived in a rural area across a dirt road from the Yetmans back in 1968 and have fond memories of both Mr. and Mrs. Yetman and the kids. I remember having great fun at the Yetman's Birthday parties. On behalf of my father Ray Plante and brothers, Mike, Rick and Dan, we extend our deepest sympathies to Mrs. Yetman and the kids.

Sincerely,

Jeannine (Plante) Sutherland
