SPEARMAN, Philip Harold
Philip Harold Spearman, aged 90, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2025, in Victoria, British Columbia.
Born in Middlesex, England, Philip built a life defined by dedication and quiet strength. After emigrating to Canada, he enjoyed a distinguished 38-year career with the T. Eaton Company, where he held various management positions and made lasting contributions to the organization's legacy. His professional journey reflected a steadfast commitment and strong sense of responsibility.
Philip was a private individual who found much joy in reading. A lifelong enthusiast of history-particularly World War II-he pursued this interest with intellectual curiosity that shaped many of his travels. His passion for learning and exploration led him to visit numerous parts of the world, always seeking deeper understanding through experience.
He shared 63 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Joy. Together they built a life grounded in an enduring companionship. Philip is also remembered by his daughter Amanda, his son Mark (Linda) and his grandchildren Emily and Alex. A private ceremony has been held with family.
Philip's life was lived with integrity and depth. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
