Phyllis Lorraine "Raine" Powell

1937 - 2022

POWELL, Phyllis Lorraine "Raine" Phyllis Lorraine "Raine" Powell passed away on June 9th, 2022 at 84 years old to be with loved ones in the Kingdom of God. She was born on October 28th, 1937, to Stanley and Ellen Wood. A devoted mother, she was cherished by her children, Kris (Christine), Shela (Jay), Mathieu (Angela) and Craig (Shannon), her grandchildren, Alyshia (Ken), Travis (Jacqueline), Amelie, Kaiden, Benjamin and Isabella, and her great-grandchildren, Brantley, Emerson and Wyatt. She is survived by her siblings Jim, Gwen, and Bill. Raine chose a career of giving, working as a registered nurse, then as a licensed practical nurse and registered care aid. She loved her God, horseback riding in the autumn, farm life, travelling, a good book and Canasta. She always had a twinkle in her eye, a warm smile, and a giving heart. She never complained or asked for much, and always gave her all when anyone needed her. Raine will be deeply missed by all those whose lives she touched. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 24th from 4 pm - 6 pm at the Esquimalt Gorge Park Pavilion - 1070 Tillicum Road. Light refreshments will be served.
