Audrey, Robbie and all your family,
It was very sad to hear of your loss of Richard. It seems a long time back that we cheered on Richard and the Bruins. We are all thinking of you back here in Burnaby.

I am saddened to learn of Rich's passing. From the age of 13 to 17 we were best friends playing hockey and baseball together in Estevan and roomed together on the weekend hockey trips. He always had a smile and had no fear when we played against some of the bigger guys.
Those memories will always be there.
I am sorry for the family's loss. He was far too young.

Dear Jan, Bailey and Grady, myself and all your Spanish family in Barcelona are very sorry for the loss of Richard. We have a Shinske in our lifes and know very well how special they are. Hard workers, caring, loving, family men and sexy!. I will always remember Richard as his brother John is exactly the same. I will never forget Richard´s sexy and deep voice either... I am very happy John and Johnny could spend time with you last year although I wish we could see each other more often. We love you and think about you all the time. Jan, Grady and Bailey. So sorry for your loss. We all lost a very dear friend. I am grateful that our girls played ball together so that we got to become friends. Always willing to lend a hand; Rich would be out lining the field, coaching first base or throwing pitch after pitch at bp. We appreciated all you did. Your smile could turn a cloudy day into sunshine. We will miss you Rich. I am proud to have known you. Love Tricia, Courtney and Sidney.

We will always have Rich close to our heart, he was by far the most kind, caring, friend anyone could have. Rich always put everyone first before him to make sure we were all ok and if we needed anything. Well Rich now we all know that you are ok and at peace with no more pain. We loved him so much and always will.

Dear Jan and Family,

Deepest sympathy from myself and my family. Rick was, for so many of us beer leaguers, the best player we ever stepped on a sheet of ice with. But, that's not what I'm going to remember most about him. Rick was just an incredibly kind, smart, gentle guy with an outstanding sense of humour. I had all sorts of good times with him and it was an honour to know someone who competed at the highest level of sport but was still able to be one of the boys.....and always will be.
