Robert BURNHAM Obituary

BURNHAM, Robert John December 4, 1921 November 10, 2011 Bob Burnham, our father, left this world by just comfortably sitting down and falling asleep. A very fitting passing for such a gentle and thoughtful man. He was born in Vancouver, the sixth of seven children, and spent his working life as a social worker throughout B.C. He often fondly recalled those years as his family grew around him. He was happiest in his workshop building furniture for loved ones, or lovingly restoring his home. Together with Valery, his beloved wife of 60 years, he enjoyed throwing family garden and dinner parties filled with good food, games, dancing and laughter. Predeceased by his wife Valery (nee Mackend) he is succeeded by his five children, Randy (Michelle), Drew (Deborah), Anne (Vern Burkhardt), Kathy (Mohney Jawl), Jack (Loree), 11 grand children, 6 great grandchildren, sister Faye (Eccleston) and brother Alan (Ruth). He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed. His good character, kindness, generosity, and gentleness, along with his smile and laugh, lit up our world. A reception honouring him will be held at Bill Mattick's Restaurant, located at the Cordova Bay Golf Course, on Friday, November 18 at 2:00 p.m. 642657
