Robert Campbell Obituary

CAMPBELL, Robert William April 26, 1949 - January 13, 2022 Rob passed away peacefully at home after a long uncomfortable relationship with cancer. Born in London, Ontario the youngest of four brothers, Rob moved to BC as young man. He worked the coast for many years as a commercial fisherman before moving to Saturna Island where with his first wife Merrilee, he built a house and owned and operated the Saturna Island General store. They relocated to the US and worked at a variety of businesses before Rob returned to BC and reconnected with a former love. They lived in Sooke, where their son was born, before moving with his family to Powell River in 1997. Predeceased by his first wife, Rob will be sadly missed by his wife Dawne, son Morgan, brothers Jim (Heather), John, Peter (Cathy), and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved very much. He will also be remembered by the many friends whose lives he touched. Many thanks to Dr. MacDonald for his care through the years. Also thanks to numerous surgeons and technicians and all the amazing nurses that provided hospital care. Much gratitude as well to the home care nurses and support staff that made his last weeks at home possible. Please be kind to health care workers. An Open House for friends and family will be held on May 29th.
