Robert O. Croll

CROLL, Robert O. 1926 - 1916 Bob passed away peacefully on November 20, 2016 at age 90, with family by his side. He grew up in Vancouver, graduated from UBC, and taught high school briefly before training as a dentist at the University of Oregon. He practiced dentistry in Vancouver and Kamloops and then completed postgraduate training in orthodontics in both the UK and the USA. He ultimately settled in Victoria where he greatly enjoyed his work. Bob was an expert squash player and competed internationally, winning the Men's 70+ 2001 US and 2002 Canadian championships. He continued to play three times a week into his late 80s. Bob remained active, enjoying working outside with his dog nearby. He also loved a good game of cards and, despite dementia, retained the ability to win at rummy until his final days. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Colleen, in July 2016, and by his young son William many years ago. He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Laura (Paul), Leslie, James (Joy), and Robert (Lynn), and his 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
