Robert HAINES Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Bob.

Bob was born in Victoria and grew up with a love of the outdoors -- sailing, camping and the beach -- especially when shared with his family. He leaves behind his wife Susan, his son Jared, his daughter Erin (Dave) and his brother Ed (Pauline). He will be greatly missed.

A private family ceremony will be held at a later date.

Earlier today

I just heard Bob recently passed. I´m so sad to hear he´s gone, Sandra and I remember him as a lifelong friend who we loved spending time with on the water or just hanging out.

Our sincere condolences to Sue, Erin and Jared and the rest of his friends and family ... he will be fondly remembered.

My Bob and I thoroughly enjoyed working with Bob at BC Systems. He also recruited us to help with Operation Trackshoes. Bob was such a good soul. If you needed help - he would be right there. You will be missed and that is for sure.

Bob and I worked together for a number of years at 4000 Seymour doing software support. He was a supportive and great guy to work with.

Bob and I worked together in the early PDP-11 years coding FORTRAN for various applications. It was interesting work figuring out memory management in those days. He persuaded me to help crew on his sailboat once or twice and I remember one event where we were going backwards with no wind and he would not use the engine - it took a while to get back that evening! I always hoped to run into Bob again and maybe have one more Friday beer and burger. A solid fellow. Farewell Bob.
