Robert Peacock Obituary


PEACOCK, Robert Clarke (1923 2009) Died peacefully at Victoria Hospice, Royal Jubilee Hospital, 17 January, 2009. He is survived by his nephew Murray Niven, Grand Forks, BC and niece Fern Acton, Trail, BC, cousins Norman Gardner and Bev Owen, Toronto, Ontario, dear friends Marion Kelly and family, Ottawa, Ontario and Kelowna, BC, Hali Maki and family, Kingston, Ontario, and Dr. Donald M. Little, Victoria, BC. He will be missed by his many friends in the Victoria Bridge Clubs, as well as others in various parts of Canada. Bob attended the University of British Columbia where he graduated Bachelor of Arts in Commerce, 1946 and Bachelor of Science in Forestry in 1947. He was employed by Macmillan-Blodell for many years and later by the Federal Government, retiring in 1979 from the Dominion Bureau of Statistics. He was a member of the Uplands Golf Club, the Conservative Party of Canada, UBC Alumni Society, the American Contract Bridge League from which he earned the Life Master (Gold) designation. Donations would be appreciated to the Victoria Hospice and Palliative Care Foundation, Volunteer Training and Education, 1510 Fort Street, Victoria, BC, V8S 5J2, or telephone 250-952-5720. Cremation. No service by request. Interment at a later date in Nelson, BC, in the family plot. 522324
