Robert Rebitt Obituary

REBITT, Robert Henry (Bob) August 5, 1935 - July 13, 2021 It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Bob, after suffering a massive stroke. He is survived by his grieving wife Karen; 3 children, Rick (Cindi), Linda (Doug), Paul (Tracy); 4 grandchildren: Riley (Summer), Sarah, Samantha and Zachary, his brother Walter, nephews Mike, Steve (Connie) and niece Heather (Richard). He is predeceased by his first wife Diana, and his sisters, Joan and Anne. He had a very full, active and rewarding life right to the end. Bob aka "Conscientious Bob" really enjoyed his many years in automotive/ boat sales. His genuine, honest approach built relationships that lasted decades, and he was well-known around Victoria. He liked to keep busy, and he loved a project! From improvements to the house in Cordova Bay that he built with his father in 1960, to the cabin at Shawnigan Lake, to anything his kids needed help with - all his projects were meticulous. Although their home with the beautiful gardens is too nice to leave for any extended period, Bob & Karen enjoyed numerous getaways. Whether a road trip to California or on their sailboat "Cumbria" to the Gulf Islands or Puget Sound, they had many happy adventures together. Bob was so proud of all his kids and grandkids! He enjoyed every visit and phone conversation to the fullest. It is painful knowing we will never again be able to experience his quick wit and great sense of humour. At the request of family there will be no funeral service, but a small family gathering at a later date. "How fortunate we are to have had something we miss so much!"

I worked with Bob for a couple of years at Pacific Mazda. Bob often stopped on his way into work and gave me a lift from my house on Blenkinsop. When my family car had terminal engine damage he helped me buy a new car.
My condolences to his family.

Wow. It really rips at the heart when friends pass on, I have so many memories of Bob, the time we all spent in Cordova Bay growing up was a good childhood. I remember Bob as a very kind man. Bob took me to my first hockey game, and of course accompanied by my childhood friend Linda, this really start brings memories back. There are very few words I can say to you at this time, hold onto all the memories and enjoy Bob's memory. I will miss seeing Bob and I do miss seeing your entire family. Dale Welch. Your friend always
