SAMPSON, Robert Duncan May 25, 1923 to April 14, 2009 Loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Predeceased by his parents and only sibling, brother William Sampson; survived by his loving wife, Rene; sons Robert Paul Sampson (Diane) of Winnipeg, Manitoba and William Bruce Sampson (Emmy) of Duncan, BC; daughter Deborah Ann (Mike Smith) of Mill Bay, BC; stepchildren Douglas Roger MacDonald (Lynn) of Victoria, BC, Thomas William MacDonald (Lorrie) of Surrey, BC, Patricia Marie MacDonald of Victoria, BC, 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Bob was a WWII veteran and served with RCAF and RAF with Bomber Command Pathfinder Force. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #256, a member of the Nanaimo Yacht Club and former member of the Maple Bay Yacht Club Power Squadron" of White Rock, BC and a member of the BC Hydro Pioneers Upper Island Branch. Bob's memory will be cherished in the hearts of all those whose lives he touched. Memorial service being held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch Mount Benson Branch #256, 1630 East Wellington Road, Nanaimo on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations in Bob's memory to Somenos Marsh Wildlife Society, Box 711, Duncan, BC V9L 3Y1 or your charity of choice will be greatly appreciated.
