Roger Cocco Obituary

COCCO, Roger Anthony
September 1, 1966 - May 30, 2024

Roger Anthony Cocco passed away peacefully after a battle with cancer on May 30, 2024. He is now reunited with his loving parents, Paul and Rina Cocco.

Roger was raised in Victoria where he had a circle of close friends and associates. He was a kind, gentle soul who was a friend to all. Roger's dreams included horseback riding in the Chilcotin during the summer and fall and returning back to Costa Rica for the winter.

One of his favourite songs was Wild Horses by The Rolling Stones.

"Wild, wild horses, we'll ride them someday".

Rest in peace, Roger, you will be missed.

A special word of thanks to Father William Hann, the BC Cancer Clinic, the Community Health Nurses Fernwood, the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Jubilee Hospital for the compassionate care for Roger during his final days. Another sincere thank you to Roger's neighbours, Laura, Lincoln, Dave, and his very dear friends Terry, Ken, Ronaye, Diane and others for their concern and kindness during Roger's battle.

A Mass of Christian Burial and celebration of his life will be held on Monday, June 10, 2024, at 12:10 pm, at St. Patrick's Parish, located at 2060 Haultain Street, Victoria, BC, with Fr. William Hann, Celebrant.

I miss you very much, Roger. You were a wonderful friend and were like a brother to me. Our kids loved you very much. You were their Uncle that had all the good stories. Wherever you are, I know you're having fun.

Rest in peace Roger
You were a great pal to sit and chat with over a beer or two, and always a kind and gentle soul. RIP buddy.

I knew Roger because of his father Paul, when Paul had the suite next to my mother at the Cridge. We were both looking after a parent in their declining years and had lots in common to talk about.

Roger was a good man who loved his Dad and showed it. He was the kind of guy who tried hard to be the best person he could be, and in my opinion he succeeded.
