WEICKER, Roger Arthur Born to Nicholas and Josephine Weicker on October 3, 1916 in Notre Dame de Lourdes, Manitoba. Passed away on August 23, 2006. Roger is survived by his loving wife and best friend Anne (nee Lux) having celebrated their 65th anniversary on July 28, 2006. He is also survived by his sons, Robert, Raymond and Bruce and his daughters, Elaine and Yvonne, along with their spouses. Roger leaves with fond memories, 16 grandchildren and 9 greatgrandchildren. An active member serving in all capacities with the Knights of Columbus and the 4th Degree, Fr. Brabant Assembly kept Roger busy in addition to his devoted service to his parish community at Sacred Heart Church. Roger served in WWII for 4 years instructing at Chilliwack with the Royal Canadian Engineers and overseas in Holland. Dad, known as "Johnny-on-the-Spot" will be remembered for his conscientious work ethic as an electrician ready to help any one at any hour for over 50 years. Roger will always be remembered for his wonderful sense of humour throughout his life. An avid bridge partner and bowling buddy kept both Anne and Roger strong in their social circle. Fishing the waters around Brentwood Bay and Sooke in his earlier years with his children will leave fond memories for all! The family wish to thank the staff of Magnolia B at the Lodge at Broadmead for their loving care and compassion. Prayers will be offered in MCCALL BROS. FLORAL CHAPEL, Johnson and Vancouver Streets, on Sunday, August 27th at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Reverend Father Anthony Gonsalves in SACRED HEART CHURCH, 4040 Nelthorpe Street, on Monday, August 28th at 3:00 p.m. Flowers are gratefully declined; tributes, if desired, may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, 101 831 Yates Street, Victoria, B.C.
