Ronald Bowes Obituary

BOWES, Ronald Vernon It is with great sadness that the family of Ron Bowes announces his passing at Victoria Hospice on Monday, October 3, 2005 at the age of 59. He was born April 16, 1946 in Victoria to the late Mary and Vernon Bowes. Ron lived all of his life in Victoria, and enjoyed golfing, curling, being with friends, and later walking, and spending much time in his garden. He was a kind, pleasant, friendly man, who was cared about by many. He was employed by BC Ministry of Health, for 35 plus years, retiring in 2001. Ron will be missed very much by his family, and many friends. He is survived by Aunt Shirley Wickstrom (Kelowna), Aunt Florence McLean (Winnipeg, Manitoba), cousins and their families, Sherry Moran (Kelowna, BC) Wendi Stewart (Tara, Ontario), Laurie Stewart (Halifax, NS), Karen Burgoyne (Winnipeg, Manitoba), Jack Crerar (Peachland, BC), Randy Crerar (Kenora, Ontario) Carol Demianyk (Winnipeg, Manitoba), Bruce Koskie (Winnipeg, Manitoba), Marvin Koskie (Winnipeg, Manitoba), Kathy Buote (Surrey, BC) and Ken McLean (Winnipeg, Manitoba). Special thanks to Miki Simpson, and her family for the ongoing love and support they have provided to Ron, for the duration of his illness. Thanks also to the many friends, for their wonderful visits, food, and happy times that he had with them at home, and in hospice, he certainly felt loved, and not alone. Thanks to the very caring staff at Hospice, especially Darlene, Esther, and Susan, who were so supportive. These kindness' will always be remembered. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 10, 2005 at First Memorial Funeral Chapel, 1155 Fort Street in Victoria. In lieu of flowers, donations to Victoria Hospice would be appreciated. 159682
