Ronald PARKER Obituary

On June 5, 2021 we lost a great one, a husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, and our favourite Buddy. We are all heartbroken, but we know he is no longer suffering and is at peace. Buddy fought a good fight. Ron is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jackie, and children Wendy (John), Lori, Rob (Brenna). The greatest and much-loved grandfather to Josh, Katie (Brandon), Jake, Nate and Korry. He was predeceased by his parents Richard and Thelma Parker, Jackie's parents Duke and Bea Shepard and sister-in-law Jill. He will be lovingly remembered by siblings Gerald, Shorty (Lynda), Rick (Tonette), Mike, Webb, Heather (Keith), sister-in-law Gale (Rick) many nieces and nephews, special cousin and friend Muriel and good friends Mike and Carol Walker. Ron was a hardworking man who did it all for his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, coaching, and watching his children and grandchildren at their many sporting events (coaching from the sidelines). Ron worked hard for others and in 1979 began the journey of self-employment with his brother Shorty where they continued their hard work together for R & L Parker Contracting until retirement in 2004. We would like to thank Dr. Domke and all the staff at Glenwarren Lodge (all of dad's girlfriends) for their compassionate care and love for Dad. A Celebration of Life is planned in the coming months. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alzheimer's Society of BC 300-828 West 8th Ave Vancouver BC V5Z 1E2.

You gave us many things in life
Gifts both great and small
But most of all you gave us love
The greatest gift of all
We love you to the moon and back

It is hard to believe it has been one year without you here, I miss you so much. Driving alone in the car is the hardest as I am always thinking of how you would 'advise' me on my speed and using my mirrors .
May the winds of Heaven blow softly and whisper in your ear
How much we love and miss you and wish that you were here
love you Dad xoxo Wens

“Hey there, I think I’m starting to like you”

If he wasn’t teaching you something he was making you laugh. Buddy taught me many things like how to sweep the floor properly, mix a Harvey Wallbanger and how to load the wood stove. Every Christmas Ron looked forward to Jac decorating the house and the kids coming over to open their presents. Buddy loved his family, his family was his world xoxo

We are all very sorry for your loss. Ron was an amazing person who I always enjoyed talking with or seeing at the ball field. His sparkle in his eyes and smile when talking about his family, his hunting or his backhoe was contagious in our conversations. Huge hugs to all and take care.

I'm sending my sincere condolences to you and your family and Ron's 6 sibling's. I recall seeing you at the Parker home on Rolston Crescent in the early 60's. My brother, Len (deceased April 5, 2010) and I were neighbor's, Len was a close friend of Shorty. I spent time with Mrs. Parker helping her doing household chores. I would appreciate receiving contact from Shorty and the triplets.
