Ronald Walker Obituary
It is with love and sadness that the family of Ronald Douglas Walker announces his peaceful passing, with family by his side. Ron was predeceased by his loving wife of 58 years, Corinne, and his cherished daughter Alison.
Born in Toronto, Ron attended school in Ontario before serving in the army and the militia. In 1956, he married Corinne and together they raised seven children.
Ron enjoyed a long and successful career as a financial analyst, but his greatest rewards came from giving back to the community. He was a member of the Lion's Club for over 30 years, and a dedicated supporter of the Kidney Foundation of Canada. Outside of his work and community service, Ron had a passion for music, enjoyed reading, building model boats, playing Crib or Scrabble and solving puzzles. He enjoyed his time at Lakeside Gardens, where he participated in activities, created new friendships, and was part of a community. Ron will be remembered for his quick wit, sense of humor, and for his dedication to the causes important to him.
Ron is remembered by his six children: Margot, Ted (Heather), Mark, David (Sunita), Heather (Phil) Rocca, and Bruce (Alix); as well as his nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all of whom he was very proud.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday November 14, 2025 at First Memorial Funeral Home, 1720 Bowen Road, Nanaimo, BC V9S1G9. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada would be greatly appreciated.
