Rosaria Melizza

MELIZZA, Rosaria (nee Di Rado) It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Rosaria Melizza (nee Di Rado) on September 19, 2022, at the age of 87 in Victoria, BC. Rosa was born on April 4, 1935, in Santa Maria Imbaro, Chieti, Italy. She immigrated to Winnipeg, MB in 1955, along with her husband, Domenico and her mom, Maria Di Rado, where they joined several family members. In 1970, she and her husband, Domenico and family moved to Victoria, BC. Rosa was predeceased by her loving husband Domenico, daughter Vittoria, son Roberto; granddaughter Sarah; parents Domenico and Maria Di Rado; sister Santa Maria Melizza, brothers Nicola, Mario, Alberto, Andrea and Tomasso Di Rado. She is survived and dearly missed by sons Tony and Gabriel, daughter Linda (Jason) and her precious grandsons Jayden and Jareden. For all who knew mom, she will be remembered as a loving, generous, and beautiful soul. She loved hosting many dinner parties with family and friends over the years. Mom's passion was making delicious homemade pasta, cooking many other Italian meals, and her love for music. She took pride in her vegetable gardens and her flourishing rose gardens, calla lilies and fig trees. RIPOSA IN PACE A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 1:00pm on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, 798 Goldstream Ave., with Father Dean Henderson presiding. Entombment will follow at the Mausoleum (Royal Oak Burial Park), 4673 Falaise Drive, Victoria, B.C. A heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Priory for their dedication and compassionate care.
