Rudy THAUBERGER Obituary
Rudy Thauberger, writer and instructor, passed in his sleep in the early hours of Oct 9, 2023 at the age of 62.
Rudy was born in Saskatoon and educated in Calgary and Victoria before making his home in Vancouver for the past four decades. He earned a BA (English) from UVic and a Masters (Creative Writing) at UBC. He wrote and edited screenplays, stage plays, web series, articles, short stories and longer fiction. He was proud to teach at Vancouver Film School and Capilano University (Motion Picture Arts).
Rudy's passion and dedication will live on in the successes of his students. Rudy's diverse interests included D & D with his good buddies, the film industry (from writing to script editing to directing), and his eclectic collection of t-shirts. His friends and family will cherish their memories of his intelligence, creativity and kindness.
The Thauberger family wishes to thank Rudy's close friends and colleagues for their support and friendship. Sincere appreciation goes to those who offered their time and efforts during the difficult time after his sudden passing.
Rudy will be sorely missed by all who knew him, particularly by his sister Rose, his brother Norbert, and his best friend Jan Crerar.
